ssshhh...

what husband doesn't know won't hurt the marriage. just kidding, i have the best husband in the world who understands how scrapping (and scrapbook shopping) keeps me sane. although aside from the goodies on the way that i previously ordered, i should be done shopping until the 3rd quarter of the year. the last few months and especially the last weekend and week has been extremely streesful for me. i can't wait for the week to be over so i can start playing with these goodies. warning, exteremely picture-heavy post. looking at the pictures makes me happy and keeps me sane.
eta: it's past 6, weekend has officially begun. scrap goodies come to mommy. i just have to catch up on sleep and eat something first. looking forward to a scrap-filled weekend:)
my second order of the year from two peas - lots of cosmo cricket goodies from the early bird collection and girl friday, some k&co que sera sera papers, an ac thicker and an oa stamp.

my first twopeas order for this year - lots of ac papers and a couple of flair buttons from craft fair and backyard collections, a thicker, some letter stickers, maya road stamps, clears and chipboard, a hero arts stamp and two spools of ac ribbons they threw in for free (i think!).

a friend was in singapore for a business trip a few weeks ago so i asked her to pick up some stuff for me over at made with love. she cleaned up the store and got all of the oa papers and some wild cards from the cherry hill and ducks in a row collection, stickers from previous releases + collage press sweet shoppe collection.
and now for my ebay purchases. first off, the websters pages papers from the sweet life and magical wishes collection and some vellum journaling cards

a couple of glimmer screens and stamps from my tattered angels. i still have the flights of fancy stencils on the way.

then there are the imaginisce stamps from the all kinds of happy, summer cool and fairest of them all collections.

then there are some chatterbox together die cuts, crafty secrets and prima stamps.

then two more glimmer mists and inkadinkado stamps.

and for goodies from my lss, these are my purchases from visual creations. the first one contains prima mommy and me pp's, a lone wrmk pp, prima artistry flowers, prima stamps, nick bantock ink pad and imaginesce stamps. the second set includes tim holtz urban tapestry stamp and luminarte's twinkling h20's.
i also passed by memory lane and got some webster's pp's and k&co cut and paste and madeline die cuts.

i didn't join the crop but i passed by to get some stuff from rekindled moments - bella blvd pp's, uhu glue, my first tim holtz stamp(loving it!), wrmk stamps and elle's studio tags.

all aas goodies - rub-ons, foam letters, fabric butterflies and flowers, gonchos and brads.

not really scrap goodies as i got these from a local clothing store but even hubby commented that i can use them on my scrapbook layouts. then when i need to borrow them for my clothes, i just remove them from the page.

when i heard a new daiso opened in galleria and i saw all the treasures people found, i promptly made my way there as well. i got the metal decorations and plan to use them as masks, A set of embroidery floss, a cute fabric for my sewing projects and these adorable cake toppers.

assorted goodies from the last time i was in japan - table napkins (aren't they pretty?), zig markers, cardstocks, stickers, cards in various sizes of varied themes and a couple of stationery.

felt and ribbon from the 100 yen store near our hotel in japan. i am planning to take on some sewing projects.

a rak from joy madison, the studio calico paris add-on kit.

this rak is from rusty pickle when i joined a giveaway in scrapscene, lots of christmas papers, stickers and diecuts.

a rak from my tattered angels for joining one of their monthly challenges, this is the english garden set i think.

the first stamp set i got from absolument stamp as a guest designer for them last january. a second set is coming. :)

a rak from jacilyn, lots of trims.

a rak from charity, two christmas rubber stamps.

a rak from artz de scrap, a couple of diecuts, papers, coasters, fibers and wooden mini-clothespin.

this is a rak from lia, a hanger waiting to be altered, a sticker, two cases of beads, some trims, brads and buttons plus some handmade tags made from scraps.

this is a rak from marix to spot the difference in the picture...a couple of prima journaling cards and the maya road chipboard birds.

raks from sister of scrap, the first one is for when i was their sister for a week, the second one is for their second year anniversary online crop. a couple of trims, flowers, papers, chipboard shapes (yes the birds again!), a stamp and an album.

rak from lisa...8x8 bg offbeat papers + hero arts stamps

a rak from christine for the cuttlebug challenge spa weekend, a swiss dots embossing folder.

unexpected

work ended earlier than i expected so i was able to get in some scrap time. i am trying to "de-clutter" my layout and simplify things. the layout is for scrapbook challenges' blog hop using a sketch.
i also have a few cards for this week's october afternoon challenge to create a card based on the sketches using their new lines. it was a good thing my friend who was in singapore the other day got me some of the ducks in a row and cherry hill papers. it pained me to cut them but it had to be done.
anyway, i have to keep this short. i am getting anxious because i haven't heard from the arranger who was supposed to send the music sheets yesterday. have a great week ahead everyone. :)

thankful...

...for my faith and my relationship with my God...i would have come this far if it weren't for Him who gave me strength and carried me through all these
...for my husband who loves me just the way i am, making me want to be an even better person, for taking care of me and believing in me more than i believe in myself
...for my family, both the one i was born into and those that i have grown into, they have been a source of inspiration, support and joy for the past years and the years to come
...for this craft that has introduced me to a whole new world of friends and possibilities
...for my work that gives me a sense of accomplishment and a source of income
...for the blessings that have reminded me of how good He can be
...for the challenges that have broken me and allowed me to grow in obedience and faith

happy birthday cj!do drop by her

a scrappy weekend

but no layouts to share, just a card and two birdhouses. the card is for basicgrey challenge #35, inspired by ice cream. mine was inspired by the delicious cherry chocolate ice cream, mouthwatering right? for the card, i used basicgrey boxer papers, my new tim holtz stamp (the first one i own and loving it!), some prima flowers and the butterfly from the k&co cut paste die cuts.

basicgrey challenge #35

the next project are two birdhouses because one is just not enough. i am even thinking of making them as favors for our wedding. the pink one is for me and the blue one for hubby. i got the template from nicole heady
here.
so back to the stories of the two birdhouses. the pink one is created for the
allsorts challenge #1 to be inspired by sweets and cuttlebug be inspired challenge #31 to create anything but a card. you can tell i am not very fond of pink right?
i printed the template on white cardstock and sprayed it with pink bubblegum glimmer mist, the roof is an embossed watermelon cardstock. i created a tag with a stamped bird and tied it through the roof with a pretty pink ribbon. the bird stamp is from absolument scrap, ain't it cute?i put in a couple of my favorite chocolates and voila!instant gift.
i was so happy with how the first one turned out, i decided to make another one for hubby and submit it to
artzdescrap birdhouse challenge. aside from the fact that it looks like a birdhouse, it is anything but a birdhouse but more of a paperweight and table ornament. short side story why i decided to make something that hubby can put in his office.
the other day, i dropped by their office and most of his colleagues had pictures of their wives or fiance on their desk. here's our conversation when we were in the car on the way home.

hubby: hon, can you give me your picture so i can put it on my desk?
me: hon, i say this with all the love i can muster but no. your desk is so messy and i don't want my face in a pile of garbage.
hubby: that's not said out of love.
me: yes it is, i could've just said no. when you clean up your desk, then maybe i will let you put my picture on your desk.

yeah, i know, it was a thoughtful gesture and i did feel guilty so i made him a birdhouse for his desk instead. but how to make a birdhouse for a guy? so i printed out the template on white cardstock again, sprayed it with juniper glimmer mist (don't you just love them?), made the roof the same way as with the pink birdhouse. i stamped an owl image that i can put in front of the birdhouse so it would seem like a bird is actually staying in the birdhouse. i didn't put a tag or ribbons through the roof. instead, i created a monogram (i tried to make the colors as masculine as i can really) and put it at the back.

allsorts challenge #1 and cuttlebug be inspired challenge #31

that's about it for me. back to scrapping. enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.
