in the nick of time

i finished my lo for adthis challenge. when i saw the ad, i immeditaely thought of the tattered angels masks/stencils i had that resembled the watch in the ad. any excuse to use my glimmer mists right? and then the text on the lower left corner reminded me of the french script stamp i had and remembered another masking technique i learned using stamps. for this, i used a heidi swapp mask and stamped on top of it. anyway, that's it for me. have to start working. enjoy the week ahead everyone.

mist magic

thank goodness for the method playground mist challenge, i was able to break out my tattered angels' glimmer mist and stencils. otherwise, they would've been gathering dust. this is the first lo i created for a dear friend at work. i asked her for a couple of pictures that i can scrap. she and her husband are one of those couples i actually love hanging out with and look up to. anyway, enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

pain + some fun

i am still held hostage by the bed - a combination of colds, knee injury and a mouth/tongue inflammation can do that. i was crying yesterday because i couldn't eat, it was too painful. even swallowing is painful. i hope i feel better tomorrow.
anyway, some of you might know i'm planning to make most of the stuff for my wedding myself and eversince last year, i've been trawling the web for stuff i can make. one site i check is
artz de scrap. with the global financial crisis, every cent we can save and ever item we can reuse would be helpful. they're celebrating their first year anniversary so be sure to drop by and join in the fun.
also kerry is hosting a blog candy, be sure to drop by here. she has some delicious stuff to share. :)
aside from these, lim is doing a giveaway for some lovely stamps here.
donna is also having some forever friends rak over here.
that's not it, bev is also doing a giveaway which includes some lovely ribbons and flowers here.
lastly kim is also doing a giveaway for some bg papers and lots of embellies here.
back to slowly swallowing food for me. ouch.

and i thought i wouldn't make it...

...apparently it was easier than i thought. in fact, it turned out better than i originally planned it. so at the last minute, i decided to join the ad this challenge for january 5 and this is my take for this challenge. hubby was a great help giving suggestions and feedback on my lo. i was scrapping while he was tinkering away at his laptop. i wish most days could be like this - calm and stress-free, being with the one you love and doing the things you enjoy. enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

the weekend is here at last

this is a layout i completed for the design experiment challenge #39. i finally got myself to break out all the stuff i've been hoarding and use them. it was a bit painful cutting up these pretty papers and taking out the stickers and flowers but i'm glad i did because i love this page. too bad my pictures don't do justice. anyway, i'm done with some chores, i'm off to class in a while and maybe more scrapping later. i did a bit of photoshop magic again, hubby says i am getting better at it. anyway, have a great weekend ahead everyone. :)

it's a new year

...and back to reality too soon.
this is my first lo for the year for the december 30 adthis challenge. below is the ad to use as an inspiration plus we had to use some wrapping paper and a tag. i used the wrapping paper that my starbucks planner came in, the "begin grow flow" print was really apt for this project and i created my own tag. last year i kept berating myself for my lousy pictures and since i have yet to succeed with my digicam, i decided to tweak with photoshop(yes, i have recently rediscovered photoshop and i must say, i'll take software engineering over graphics design anytime). i just fixed the edges and the color contrasts and brightness. maybe after i'm done with the wedding invites, i can do more fancy stuff. maybe. anyway, i'm thinking about my resolutions for this year, will probably do a layout for it this week. anyway, i hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a blessed year ahead. have a great week ahead everyone.

p.s. i've been having trouble with my glue lately (won't keep things stuck or dries too fast even before i get to use it). i'm in dire need of good acid-free adhesives. in case you're in the same conundrum as me, you might want to check this giveaway from helmar.

and i have yet to sort and upload pictures from the ceremony and our honeymoon. here are some pictures from the ceremony, during christmas eve dinner in boracay and ricson and mabel's wedding (finally get to tick off my dream to be part of the entourage, bridesmaid and maid of honor dreams still to come). anyway, i told hubby (have to get used to saying this) that attending our friends' wedding made me excited about our own this year. now i am 75% convinced about the fancy wedding.
