this will be the last

...scrapbook project for the day. i really have to get started with our wedding invites. sharing a card i made for simon says sketch challenge. i used the oval scallop spellbinder dies i won from sunflowers and dragonflies' card challenge. i picked it up yesterday, just in time for me to finish my card.

i am also sharing a couple lo's i finished in the last few months. the first is for ps' kaya challenge to scrap about the most important thing in your life and the last is for an amm challenge to use a vintage image and lace in your lo. now i really have to go. happy weekend everyone.:)

the idol journey

i know it has been a while since i posted in this blog and might be a while before i post again. i've been preoccupied with scrappin moms' idol season 3. and afterwards, i will have to focus on our wedding preparations. it was my first time to join and i honestly expected/hoped to last only un til the 3rd round. so imagine my surprise when made it to the finals.
the finals was the same day as hubby's birthday but he was kind enough to let me go and let me shop. i didn't win but i learned so much and made some good friends along the way so i say, i'm still a winner in that sense. congratulations to all those who joined and the winners, as well as to scrappin moms for pulling this off. i don't know how they do it year in, year out. so anyway, i am sharing the layouts and an album i completed for the whole adventure. this post is a bit picture-heavy. anyway, that's it for me. have to get back to our invites now. happy long weekend ahead everyone.

two in a day

the unpredictable weather and the cloudy skies are not helping my attempts to take better pictures. anyway, here are two lo's i completed for sisterhood of scrap's challenges. for susan's challenge, we were supposed to use a fifties' slang in our title, i chose circled which means married. go figure. as you can see, i have a hangover from my adthis lo and i fell in love with the color scheme and the handmade flowers.
for
carla's challenge, we needed to create an lo using a 12 inch circle, with something black and some bling. i used a scalloped circle, black vinyl thickers for my title and assorted gems and conchos. i tried to remove the flash but my meager photoshop skills are no good.
i also combined this with
method playground's challenge #43 to use magazine clippings or pages in my lo. i created paper flowers using these colorful pages from a wedding magazine i had. i got it free from one of the fairs we attended and my mil already gave me a copy earlier so i didn't hesistate cutting it up. that's it for me. hope the weather cooperates tomorrow. and i will try to take better pictures. :)

it's a new year

...and back to reality too soon.
this is my first lo for the year for the december 30 adthis challenge. below is the ad to use as an inspiration plus we had to use some wrapping paper and a tag. i used the wrapping paper that my starbucks planner came in, the "begin grow flow" print was really apt for this project and i created my own tag. last year i kept berating myself for my lousy pictures and since i have yet to succeed with my digicam, i decided to tweak with photoshop(yes, i have recently rediscovered photoshop and i must say, i'll take software engineering over graphics design anytime). i just fixed the edges and the color contrasts and brightness. maybe after i'm done with the wedding invites, i can do more fancy stuff. maybe. anyway, i'm thinking about my resolutions for this year, will probably do a layout for it this week. anyway, i hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a blessed year ahead. have a great week ahead everyone.

p.s. i've been having trouble with my glue lately (won't keep things stuck or dries too fast even before i get to use it). i'm in dire need of good acid-free adhesives. in case you're in the same conundrum as me, you might want to check this giveaway from helmar.

and i have yet to sort and upload pictures from the ceremony and our honeymoon. here are some pictures from the ceremony, during christmas eve dinner in boracay and ricson and mabel's wedding (finally get to tick off my dream to be part of the entourage, bridesmaid and maid of honor dreams still to come). anyway, i told hubby (have to get used to saying this) that attending our friends' wedding made me excited about our own this year. now i am 75% convinced about the fancy wedding.
