pats on my back

my mood meter on the right says it all, i am feeling smug and terribly proud of myself today. i have finally completed this one critical project at work that i didn't like doing but agreed to take on because my manager needed a senior person to do it as it was important for our customers. i managed to complete two deliverables for two other projects, one ahead of schedule. and i even managed to sneak some scrapping time - i brought some scrapping supplies to work so during long meetings i would be doing some cutting and pasting. as a reward, i will give myself the entire weekend to scrap. no more work! speaking of which, there are a lot of sales going on...my savings is gonna take a serious hit once more...

wednesday surprise

i got these in the mail today...reminding me that i have to stop hoarding and start scrapping more...

work has been stressful these past few days and i can barely squeeze in time to scrap. when i get home, i am too tired and i immediately fall asleep when my head hits the pillow. hopefully, things will be less hectic next week but i will definitely scrap this weekend. two more days to go. :)

european escapades

i said i'd come in to work early today to get some work done, instead i ended up uploading some of the los i finished. yes, i bring some of my los to work to show off to my officemates. i was up til 3 this morning and got barely 3 hours of sleep thus i need the coffee boost or i don't now how i'd survive the rest of the day. anyway, as promised, i am sharing some of my los from my europe trip last year. the first one is of lille in france which was near the border of belgium. we actually went there to visit a friend who had this really adorable half-french, half-filipino baby. i told her she can bring him back here and he can be a model or a celebrity. the last one is from brussels - mannekin piis, cinquaintenaire, the 250+ beers, grand market square, there is so much to see. i wanted to go to ghent and antwerp as well because my friends tell me the sights are spectacular but i didn't have enough time. next time, maybe.
i have yet to fix the ones for amsterdam and luxembourg as i wasn't too happy with the results. i saved my pictures from madrid and paris for last as i have so many nice ones and i wasn't sure if one lo would suffice. looking at the pictures makes me want to go back to europe even if the cold was killing me the last time i was there.
once i am done with this set, i'll move on to the asia and us sets. by the way, does anyone know how to take proper pictures of los? the ones i get are usually blurred or the edges don't come out quite right.

ahlabyu sabado!

boipren and i went to moa yesterday to catch the fireworks display. we were only able to watch half of the show as we had late tickets for indiana jones. so while the opening credits of the movie were rolling in, we could hear the series of explosions outside. earlier, i went to lasting impressions to accompany a friend who was new to scrapbooking. i told myself i had all the stuff i need and i would just help her pick out some stuff but i ended up buying stuff for myself! i got mostly plain cardstock in various shapes. i should really start to scrap more and shop less. while i was in moa, i dropped by booksale and i found some really cheap scrapbook magazines - i got ck hof volume 9 for 100 bucks! i also got two other magazines for the same price or less. when i found extra copies, i got some for my friend as well. there were other craft and stamping magazines but i told myself i have to stick to the scrapbook budget. anyway, if you happen to be in the area, you might want to check out their collection, they even have ck 2007 issues for 25 bucks!

anyway, i intend to spend the rest of the day finishing some of the los i started before the weekend is over. i will try to post some of my finished los next week. :)

tagged and the day after

so i completed the exam in an hour, 2 hours ahead of our allotted time. by the time i finished, i was too nervous to stay and wait for the time to expire so i clicked the button to complete and voila! i am certified!
today, now that all the exam mania has worn off, i can't wait for scrapfest so i am organizing my list of things to pack for tomorrow. in the meantime, i've been tagged by cabbie, one of my scrapping idols. i am amazed at how much she gets done and how lovely the things she makes are.

  • link back to the person that tagged you. - done
  • post these rules on your blog. - done
  • share six unimportant things about yourself. - done
  1. i organize the clothes in my closet according to color
  2. i only learned how babies are really made when i was in 3rd year highschool
  3. i am geographically-challenged...i can live in a place for years and still get lost
  4. i get some of my clothes from the children's section - and it's not even the largest size
  5. i used to write poetry and essays and i hope i have time to do that again
  6. i don't know how to swim, drive or ride a bike
  • tag six people at the end of your entry. - done(?)

since this is a fairly new blog, this is a good chance for me to get to know people more. if you happen to read this and you'd want to join, i would really appreciate it.

the big day

so my certification exam is today and boipren tells me to stop studying already and just relax. i've been studying like crazy for the past few months for this exam, spending my weekends and holidays reading and memorizing (feels like college all over again). true to geek form, i drew up a study schedule and guess how it ends?

anyway, for each major milestone i completed i gave myself a reward - a scrapping day or scrapbook shopping trip. i think it worked out pretty well, we'll know for sure this afternoon. anyway, taking a cue from boipren, i started fixing my site and sorting through the los' i completed. anyway, i am not very happy with the quality of my pictures but i am happy enough with how one of the los turned out - enough to share it. anyway, i think boipren is regretting giving me the advice that he did. but this is for boipren - constant study partner, motivator, coach and of course, my no.1 scrapbook fan. :)
