coming up for air

this layout is an attempt to prove that midnight blue and coral pink works after a fledgling gay designer told me that my color scheme is not nice. i was actually very upset after he told me that so i decided to prove him wrong. i am not sure if it works though, i think it does. this layout is also an attempt to take a breather from a very stressful month at work. the prolonged absence of updates and posts is a testament to that i think. i was actually cutting and pasting while waiting for updates from an officemate. that's about it for me. back to work. enjoy the rest of the weekend. :)

in kobe again

flew in last night and will be back in manila on saturday. before i left i managed to wrap up some tasks, including finalizing our entourage and making cards for my girls asking them to be a part of my entourage.
i wanted to do something nice for my girls and to dabble in some diy. when i asked hubby if he wanted me to make something for his guys, there was this incredulous look on his face and he said, "no it's ok, i'll just text them."
every now and then when i would complete one stage of the project, i would turn to him and ask him if they looked good. he says they're pretty but we'll have to see if they're pretty enough to elicit a yes.
the next day when i was done, he asked, "when are you gonna give out your wedding achuchu?" since i am out of town, i've asked him to distribute them for me. anyway, here are some sneaks, i will post more pictures when the recipients get them. i wouldn't want to preempt anything.
anyway, that's about it for me. from rokko island, have a great week everyone.

when the husband is away...

...the wife will make a mess.

i think it is an unspoken agreement between hubby and me that i can make all the scrapping mess i want as long as a.) he isn't around to see it b.) he doesn't have to deal with it. it is a necessary i think for a wife to possess skills of a magicians and be able to do tricks such as not leaving a trace so the husband will not suspect that the house was ever in this state:

i am generally an oc scrapper, i usually can't work with papers scattered and all my things strewn about. i have to put things back after i use them before i can proceed with my scrapping but that has proven to be tiresome especially if i realize later on that i still need the things i already put aside. plus, it's a real mojo killer.
anyway, enough chatter. oen of the reasons for the mess was i was playing with stamps which was the challenge for the feb 23 ad this. i love stamps but i usually dread using them because of the cleaning and storing i have to make. it was a good thing though that i joined this week's challenge so i was able to take them out of their packaging. this is this week's ad.

for my interpretation i flipped the ad 90 clockwise and used the shades in the ad in my lo - ecru, green, red, pink and orange. i also used some of my favorite stamps here - hero arts french script for my background, collage press grayson small for my title, the 3d butterfly stamp from studio azul, autumn leaves rhonna farrer stamps for my journaling, the cute oa owl stamp right above it and the postage and floral flourish from mm passport stamp.
as usual, my pictures don't really bring out the colors but at the very least, i do hope the stamped images are clear enough. that's about it for me. :)
