what? the weekend is over?

had a funny incident with my ring last wednesday, you can read all about it in the other blog. i managed to finish a card for kaya made from scraps of the lo i did. i made it for boipren, i just have to write a note inside. i initially planned to make an atc when i remembered seeing alby use it for a card so i decided to use it for my card as well. i like making atc's, they're like miniature art pieces.

i also finished my lo for
ria's birthday challenge. and no, i am not pregnant, and if our plans go as intended, i won't be in the next 4-5 years. don't get me wrong, i think motherhood is wonderful and i really look forward to joining the club. but i still have lots of growing up and outgrowing to do before i can be ready for a kid. truth be told, i am a kid myself!

materials used: patterned paper: prima, sassafras lass, daisy d’s & basic grey; stamps: hero arts & making memories; ink: versamark; diecut: my mind’s eye; journaling card: prima; puncher: stampin up; letter stickers: scrapworks & american crafts.
journaling: when people find out i’m getting married, one of their first questions is how i’d look if i get pregnant. i tell them i don’t know. i’m not even sure how many kids i want. all i know is that before i turn 40, i want to be a mom – and still be me. inasmuch as motherhood will shape me, i hope that I can put my own twist on being a mom.

remember my self-imposed scrapbook shopping moratorium? this is a conversation we had last wednesday. just a disclaimer and a clarification, as he is the finance whiz, i have asked boipren to help me manage my finances better for the wedding out of my own volition. so he has been helping me cut down on my scrapbook shopping.

me: pwede ba ako mag-order ng scrapbook stuff sa us, padala ko kay mabel, free shipping naman e.
boipren: 1000.
me: 2500?
boipren: 2000.
me: 2250?
boipren: 2100.
me: 2500 na please.
boipren: 2400.
me: 2500 na please. isang kiss na lang para +100.
boipren: sige na nga.

so now i have a box of alphabet stickers and pixie stix on the way. and did i mention he also brought me to memory lane yesterday to buy mm paints? i have the best boipren in the world! i don't know why but i suddenly became obsessed with them. so much for my resolve to save more.
and in case you're interested in winning some webster's pages goodies, drop by here.
anyway, have a great weekend everyone. i'll try to finish more lo's. :)

a great scrapping weekend

so i manage to finish my entry for kaya. i've been staring at it for days, trying to figure out if i should go for the minimalist approach or if i should go heavy on the embellishments. in the end, the bright colors won me over to go for the eclectic, cluttered look or in other words, makalat. i like putting in lots of things in a layout and have people find something new every time they look. i have to learn to work with less is more but for now, this is my finished lo.

also, i got all my ebay purchases this week and i felt like a kid during christmas opening all the packages. anyway, this will be my last splurge for a while. i promised boipren i will start seriouslys aving up for the wedding. it's a good exercise to help me stop hoarding and to start using most of the stuff i haven't used yet. anyway, i am off to another wedding fair in a while. have a great weekend everyone.

look who has her mojo back

look who's got her mojo back. i just have to fill out the journaling spots later on. i hope i can finish some lo's for challenges by the weekend.
i'm also glad i was able to use the stuff i bought from japan. the blue title/journal spot in the first lo is actually washi tape. then, in the second lo, i was able to use these cute matrioshka stamps. i put myself on a shopping and hoarding moratorium until i get to use all the new stash. besides, boipren is constantly reminding me to start saving for the wedding. now if only i can justify my scrapbook shopping as part of wedding expenses - any ideas how to do that?
enjoy the week everyone. :)
